Assassins is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by John Weidman, based on an idea by Charles Gilbert, Jr. It uses the premise of a murderous carnival game to produce a revue-style portrayal of men and women who attempted (successfully or otherwise) to assassinate Presidents of The United States Of America. The music varies to reflect the popular music of the eras depicted.

ASSASSINS was the first production mounted by Neil Gooding Productions. The show was performed at the Lighthouse Theatre in Sydney from June 16-24, 2002.

One of the finest young ensemble casts and production teams that Sydney has witnessed was assembled for this production - which received an overwhelming response from audiences throughout its run.
